Wood Source

Last week I was wandering through 'craigslist' and found in the "materials" section someone who had remodeled their kitchen. He then took most of the old OAK cabinets for use in the garage.
Leftover Doors, Drawers and miscellaneous pieces were for sale for a flat $25.
I went and picked them up and netted about $100 worth of usable OAK. Just needs to be cut down to size and sanded.

Sources for wood pop up in strange places.

Also check the various 'recycle' forums like Freecycle and ReUseIT in your area. People giving away furniture and other items made of wood.

Yeah GB, I have scored old cabinets and usable hardwoods from customers houses. sometimes for free and sometimes in trade for services.

I'm headed out to cut this all up into usable pieces and will post a pic later so you can all see what you can get for $25 if you look around!
