i have a dewalt 788 and am having a problem with it losing power and or shutting down completely as I am cutting I keep the saw clean and lubed does not do it all the time all the switches are orig. does have new brushes in motor maybe 30 hours on them has anyone run into this problem with theirs?

It sounds like the switch has intermittent issues,
Have you tried using a foot pedal to control the on off function.
Just a suggestion to try.
I have never had this issue, But I use a foot pedal to control the on/off function, Not the arm switch

The on/off switch can collect dust over time and fail and you said that it's the original if I'm reading your post right. I had to replace one a few years back. There's a video on testing the switch and replacing it.
