Blade clamps
« on: August 04, 2010, 05:32:11 am »
The blade clamps on my machine are tightened by Allen key closing the slotted jaws and are a constant source of frustration. The Allen keys need considerable force to tighten them and wear quite quickly. Whats the best sort of clamp to get, or make as a retro fit?

Go to my website mikesworkshop.com and click on Accessories and you will see the replacement I have for the Hegner knob. Customers really like that one.

I agree with Mike, I installed the Hegner Quick Clamp on my Hegner 18V and it makes a world of difference.

hi malc,
I have modified my Sip to make blade changing easier and turn the top clamp into a quick release.
The indexing lever was a straight swap for the allen bolt Cost ?7.77 inc.P&P from here. Part numberWDS 8229-2042045 and they do all kinds so may be useful for owners other machines

My new machine has quick release blade clamps. The old one I had for years had the allen key set up. I hated it. Glad you found a fix. Good find there mouse.  8)
