The two pieces are in essence the same the only difference in the pieces is that one piece has the slot on the top and the other on the bottom so that they slide together and wind up even.
If you want to stack cut them you can do so, but if you are only making one set, you will need to cut the crosses out first and cut everything up to the slots and the tops where the hangers are on one piece and the slot is on the other piece (save them for last). Then you need to separate them and replace the pattern and finish them off individually. I know it sounds a bit tricky, and it is more picky than that, but it is possible.
The best thing for stack cutting is to make two or three sets at a time.
