New Jet Scroll Saw Set up
« on: April 25, 2020, 10:48:05 am »
There's a plastic piece under the table that covers the throat plate from below blocking the small holes where the saw dust should drop down through. It looks like that plastic piece goes under the vacuum connector. I believe I should take that off - correct? There shouldn't be anything stopping the saw dust from dropping down through those small holes - right?

No. There is a slight gap between the table and the plastic that forms a chamber which connects to the dust port.  If you take off the plastic you will reduce the effectiveness of the dust removal system.  It would be nice if the manufacturer would provide this guidance but all they are worried about is getting you $$.

If you're like me and actually read the whole manual they do mention that.  Of course, that only helps those folks who are the sort who read the whole manual so.... ::)
