Arm Lift Support DeWalt 788
« on: November 09, 2019, 02:27:12 pm »
I have bought a DeWalt 788 and I was wondering if there was a way to support the arm when placing blade through hole? Thanks much in advance.

I have the Jim dandy lifter. https://jimdandy.com/collections/all-products/products/easy-lift-system-for-dewalt-scroll-saw-dw788. It works well for me and has given no trouble. YMMV.

Good luck selecting a lifter.

On my Delta 40-694 clone I used a short length of a 2x4 between the arm and the table.  Worked very well for me.

I bought a length of aluminum at the big box store lifted the saw head eyeballed where to drill two holes for mounting it and then bent it away from head. Hooks under existing screw and works great. Same as the lifter but cost me about 4 dollars.

I want to thank everyone for their reply. I have been using a short 2x4 which works okay, so I may stay with it until I check out all the suggestions. Once again, thanks all.

I tighten the screws that hold the arm in place, and when I lift it, it stays up while I feed the blade through the holes.

I use a simple shorty 2x4 - it was free and works great!

Steve Good actuality has a cute pattern for a gir or boy that holds the arm up. “Dee” and “Walt”.
