Small 2/0 blades twists
« on: October 23, 2019, 09:43:53 pm »
Hi all. So I am making scroll saw Christmas puzzles from Steve Goods pattern. I am using an FDUR 2/0 blade. When making the turns on the puzzle piece the blade twists. When I come out of the radius the blade is still twisted and making the new path distorted. I have tightened blade in the chuck more than I normally do. thinking that would help with the twisting, no luck. I decreased my feed rate but the blade still twists. What am I doing wrong. I would appreciate your all feedback.

I find the same problem doing puzzles from 1/4 inch baltic plus a1/8 sacrificepiece. 2/0 blades twist, wander and cause extreme frustration so I use a no.1 pegas modified under high tension and slow speed.

Thank you for the replies. Very helpful. I will try a # 1 blade. I was trying to keep the cut as small as possible.

for puzzles i use a #2/0 or a #1 spiral/rev. changing directions requires no rotating.
