ReSizer?
« on: November 06, 2017, 04:57:01 pm »
Has anyone attempted to use the "free" resizer software that Steve put on here years ago? I tried today and found that now I have to purchase software in order to use it, even with Steve's patterns. Is it me, or is now a purchase only option???

I just used it two days ago with a Steve Good pattern.  It worked beautifully and no charge.  Only works free for Steve Good Patterns.  Go to Scrollsaw Workshop site, scroll down to the Rapid Resizer on the left, read what is there and at the end click in "Resize a Pattern"  follow the instructions.  Just worked for me again...  You have to chose the pattern from his catalog.

As I mentioned in my post, I AM using Steve's patterns. I received an email from him. He will look into why it's not working anymore for free.... I just tried it again using his "sisters are forever" pattern. It lets me do everything until I hit the print button. Then it brings up the purchase page for ReSizer. I can't print it from a previous screen because it prints all the wording on the side of page. So, as of 6:06PM on November 7, it is still not working as a free app

Hi Scrappile,

Could you take a minute and tell me how you got it to work? I've been using it for quite awhile with no problems, but recently it will let me get the red tint, resize, and then when I hit the "print" button, it takes me to the purchase page. Steve has looked into it and talked with the APP owner and both agree it isn't working. Maybe you have the magic touch, and I sure would appreciate it if you could walk me through how you get it to work like it did. I'll pass your info on to Steve and the owner, because they can't get it to work like it should either.

Thanks,

Dr J Popa

Go to Scrollsaw Workshop site, scroll down to the Rapid Resizer on the left, read what is there and at the end click in "Resize a Pattern"

It brings up a screen yellow background, picture of Steve, little gray box. There is a browse button.  click browse, (i had already downloaded a pattern to my computer).

I found the pattern and clicked on it.  It lists the file just beside the "Browse" and below it is a button that says "submit my file". Click it,

It takes you to the RapidReszer site loads the file.  I choose the page I want to resize, tell it what size I want and hit print.

It takes me to my print options I select "poster" and print.

It is very slow, you have to wait for everything to load before going to the next step.

Just went through it again as I wrote this and it worked.  I don't know if it would make any difference, but I am using a Mac computer.

I tried it out this morning and did not have any problem.  Just now went back on site to see what the steps I took were.  However, cannot find the resizer window on Steve's site?

JustLarry,

You're right, I looked just now and the ReSizer site is no where to be found. But, it was a great program while it lasted.....

Thanks for letting us use it, Steve...

I'm really wondering if it is related to a Windows, upgrade or something.  I really worked fine in my Mac.

It sounds like a windows upgrade situation. Makes me want to switch to a Mac - Quick Books and Quicken go through the same problems or worse every windows update.
