How to make a pattern
« on: June 15, 2016, 01:04:27 pm »
I thought Photoshop had a "line art" filter, but I can't find it. Am I better off doing Inkscape traces?

I am not a photoshop guy.

What are you trying to make a pattern of.

If it is a portrait from a picture then Gimp is the free way to go.

If it is letters and line then Inscape works.  I often take a picture, clip art or silhouette and have that converted to a vector or use vectors from some free sites.

If you give us some more ideas on the pattern you desire, some of the talented people maybe able to help.

Mainly portraits. I actually own Photoshop, but if you can give me the GIMP process, they should be identical. I used the SUMO PAINT app and it did a decent job, but it has size restrictions.

As for inkscape, do you just use the trace feature?
