2 more projects
« on: June 27, 2015, 07:56:06 pm »
Here are 2 projects that I finished.
First is custom keychain of the Seattle Mariners logo on redwood inlaid with thermal clay.
Second is a Charles Dearing pattern shortly after starting and then the finished picture.
The hand took 22h and 450 cuts. 24inX15.5in mdf maple veneer on painted mdf cherry veneer. 1/4in thick.

ABSOLUTELY WOW, AWESOME.  That sphere is sooooooo delicate, I bet it was scary to cut.

Looks like difficult to cut, therefor very satisfying.

Yes it was a little nerve racking cutting the sphere. One slip and i cut through the lines and some are close. But once you get into a rhythm into cutting it, it went easy. The hard parts were the very small lines at the top and bottom of sphere. I used a #2 spiral and a drill hole that just allowed the blade to go through. The bottom of the sphere took awhile too as there were many little sections that could easily break. I'll post that picture later.  Thanks for all the kind words. I was glad to get it done. Even happier that I was able to double stack, both with no broken pieces. Really happy.

Here are the pics of the bottom of the sphere. The pencil is reference for size.  Took me awhile to find these pics.
