Problem in tha forum
« on: March 06, 2015, 09:30:30 am »
Hi Steve, I think there is a problem in the forum, the images of the patterns that request and / or share can not see or photos of the work.
They are also failing pictures of members.
Thank you for your attention to the present.

I'm having the same difficulty. No pictures in the threads and a 404 file not found, error notification if I try to open the link.

This issue was brought up on Feb 24.
Please check threads below.
Russ did reply saying that Steve is aware of the problem
and tp please be patient.
I'm sure Steve has other issues to deal with like SNOW
and work and a family life.
I'm sure when time permits it will be looked at and resolved
SO, let be patient and give Steve some time.
Thanks
Fab4

I see others are able to see pictures. I can occasionally see them. Is there something in settings I need to do or is this still the norm till fixed?

It seems that, if there is a thumbnail attached to a post, I can click on thumbnail and it will enlarge.  If the thumbnail is accompanied by a link to a larger picture, I can open that as well.

BUT, if there is a link but no thumbnail, then I get the error message when I try to open the link.  Has anyone else noticed this?

Perhaps this observation will  to useful Steve, our hard working, and much appreciated, leader.

From Steve Good,

There are problems with the Community forum. For those of you who are members there please know that I am working on the issue. Most the the attachments for the posts such as pictures were lost. My hosting service allows unlimited storage but only if it does not cause the server issues. Apparently it was causing issues and they were only giving me a few hours to fix it or be shut down. I was trying to delete only the older attachments but they all got deleted. I'm trying to recover the lost images but no luck so far.

The size of the storage space for attachments adds up pretty quickly. I have to forum software set to delete post attachments after so many days but it does not seem to be working. I want to be able to continue to host the attachments on my server but if I can't get it worked out I may have to only accept offsite attachment hosting. Sorry for the trouble.
