Claddagh ring

Hi Folks

Here is another attempt (Got Brownie Points for this one )

Traditional Irish ring given which represents love, loyalty, and friendship (The shamrock is a nice touch to)
Thanks to Travis from Scrollsawvillage.com for this pattern.
Made from Birch Ply 3mm back 6mm for hart, I used Danish Oil on the hart and discovered it takes time to dry on Ply 
The back piece was just water colour paint and varnish ,when assembled I used a clear lacquer over the top.

I am looking for tips on finishing and please Constructive criticism is very much appreciated 

If i dont know where i am going wrong how can i learn

From the looks of your two photos you don't need "finishing tips"  Your cutting & finishing came out beautiful. PS - yes danish oil takes time to dry - but then it soaks in to the wood & does not raise the grain. All finishes have their advantages/disadvantages. It comes down to what you want to see and the time and finishes YOU like.

Thanks for the support and comments guys I am delighted you like my work 

Maybe i am a little more critical of my own stuff (Working in a manufacturing dispatch role has made me stricter than i need to be My rule is if i would pay good money for it then the customer will be happy If i am not happy then i don't dispatch and it goes back to quality control for finishing) This is a new craft for me and every day is a teaching day.

The cutting work looks excellent. The finish on the Claddagh is very clean and the edges all look great. I'm happy to see the 3 leaves (the 4 leaf clover is not the traditional Irish Shamrock). You probably selected the background color for a good reason, but the only comment I would make - and you probably know this already - is that the Shamrock is a brighter green color. Terrific work and timely.
