For some reason I really went through a lot of blades so do this one.  1/4" Baltic Birch, 3/0 New Spiral Flying Dutchman blades.  Charles Dearing pattern.

Excellent work Paul.  Not sure why you went through so many blades but the cutting came out great.  Thanks for sharing this with us.

Fantastic job on that Paul..So many different holes, connecting and reconnecting blade will play havoc on them.

Paul, just forget about the number of blades you used, this is excellent work. It's the end result that really matters and you really have completed a wonderful piece. You should be proud!

Paul, That came out great. I know what you mean about breaking blades. There's a lot of blade changes there. This is a pic of one that I did and I also had a lot of blade breaks. I used a 3/0 reverse.

Thanks for the very nice comments.  I do love Charles Dearing patterns, but recently I purchased seven of Mike Williams' patterns ( http://mikesscrollsawpatterns.com/index.html.  Very anxious to have a go at them).

For those asking this picture is 17.5" X 10.5"

Beautiful work. Did you consider using larger spirals except where the tiny ones are required? They would be less fragile.

As a matter of fact I did use a larger one for a little while, but just could not get to feeling comfortable with it.  It's a good point and one I will practice more with in the future.
