donation
« on: January 24, 2015, 10:14:32 am »
Company I work for is looking for donations for an auction. I told them I would make something, due by April. However, there are so many ideas I just don't know where to begin.
Can anybody suggest a pattern for me? Any skill level, I can manage. Thanks.

You might try a plaque with the company logo on it - put a little corporate guilt on the owners to buy it.

If you want to show off scrolling, the layered bowls or baskets are pretty impressive and can be used by most people. Contrasting hardwood like walnut and maple usually look good. Here's a set where the top ring was swapped. These are cut from Red Oak and Aspen.

Bowls are a great idea.

If you are not into the sanding there are a couple of patterns in Steve's library'

I recently made the attached bowl as it was posted here and at SSW.  At the last "show and tell" at the club I got lots of complements and I could have sold a couple.

The pattern can be found at http://www.traforaj.ro/download.html.  # 8

Thanks for the info fellas. Think I'll try the bowl idea. I have some chunks of cherry and walnut. See what I can throw together.
