First cross

This the first cross I have cut and it took about 2 1/2 hours I think I could have done it quicker with a spiral

It looks great, Jimbo!  I don't like spirals myself, and I think you did wonderful without them - especially for the first one!

That's awesome! I wouldn't of used a spiral on it myself, but if it works for you go for it!

Good Job Jimbo!  I've used the spirals, but prefer to only use them when really needed.  The ones I used left a rough surface unlike the reverse tooth blades I usually use, and the kerf is much wider as well.  They also seem to break a lot more often, but maybe that's just me.

I cut alot of crosses.  The problem with cutting that with a spiral is that the inside cuts are not clean and smooth.  The sanding is a nightmare.  The tight turns on that particular cross will not show up sharp if you use a spiral.  It is well worth your time to turn the wood with a regular blade.  Beautiful piece by the way.
