I haven't been on the site in a few weeks due to some issues around the house but I have been able to finish a few Intarsia pieces from one of my pattern books a bought awhile back.

Wow they are lovely!
Regarding your finish do you apply the varnish directly onto the bare wood or do you need to use a sanding sealer first? I'm trying to improve my finishing but so far seems i have a long way to go to match you guys.
Cheers

Brian,
You did a wonderful job on all three pieces. However, I am especially impressed with the eagle. It takes a lot of commitment and patience to complete a project with a lot of small intricate pieces and you sir have done a remarkable job.

Brian,
I don't use sand & seal at all. 3 light coats of the & buff between coats with fine steal wool. Fret work I add 1 more step which is a coat of lemon oil before spraying.

Cheers Brian will make a note of that!
