Does any one use windows defender for their security with widow 8 and if so do you think it secure enough

I am using on 2 new laptops and so far so good.  My other computer has bridge point that the Internet Provider supplies and I don't see any difference.

I am very careful on any downloads.

I use defender and have had no issues. Remember to scan and update regularly.

I thought the scans and updates were done automatically, thanks for you rteplies
