Wonderful cutting. How thick is the cedar? Did you consider adding tissue paper, silk, or other light weight backer to get more air to flow (if these are meant to be used as actual fans)?

Very nicely cut Charles.  That looks to be about 5/16 or perhaps 1/4 cedar.  I love working in it.  Thanks for sharing these with us.

Thanks guys.  The wood is 1/8" thick.  Got it from thinwoodboards on ebay.  Won't be using it as an actual hand fan because aromatic cedar is so brittle ;)

Not only that, but a fan full of beautiful holes won't move much air.  ;D

Kidding aside, those are beautiful and a wonderful gift idea.
