...about cutting coins, in the right place this time?
when you cut coins using a custom pattern, do you 'sand' them flat first to lose the patterned face?
haven't had time to try any yet really, drilled a hole and cut for about 2mm before I broke the blade, but haven't persevered as was in the middle of another project

I, too, would like to hear the answer to this. Gill - depends on the availability in the land of kilts and haggis, but apparently jewellers blades work best for this sort of endeavor. Mike has them (I just ordered some) but I'm not sure if he mails overseas. Cheers, Barry.

I am not an expert in this area but, none of the examples I have seen were
sanded before cutting the coin.
Hopefully a member who calls himself Hot Shot will happen by and help you out. If not, drop him an e-mail or start a new thread about Cutting Coins.

In answer to Barry's Q yes Mike does post overseas at least to New Zealand 
As for the coin Q I personally wood'nt remove the pattern on the coin.
