Thank you pattern makers
« on: May 07, 2014, 10:06:25 pm »
I know that threads like this have been made to honor our great pattern makers on here, but I really needed to say this too. I am so thankful to have such a great community of people here that are always wanting to help when they can. Whenever I ask for help with a pattern, I not only get one response, I get two, or three, or four. When I make that portrait for someone, they choose which pattern they like best. So when I post the finished project and it isn't one of your patterns that you made and it is someone else's, please don't feel that I don't appreciate your time and effort, I really do. I just want you all to know that I appreciate all your help.

You said that perfectly Dustin, I couldn't agree more. Thanks to all the pattern makers out there that willingly share their work

Dustin
you make a very valid point and it is something that I have wondered about in the past.
Firstly I would say that the pattern makers do the work for two reasons, firstly to help out the recipient and also simply because we enjoy doing it, and I doubt that any of us are offended if our pattern is not the one that gets used. By making the patterns we are constantly honing the skills of which means that the patterns produced are increasingly better.I have noted on several occasions, that when a recipient gets several variations to choose from that we never see the finished piece, and feel this is because they feel they will offend the pattern makers by not using there patterns, this not the case, so a message to all please do show the finished work WE WILL NOT BE OFFENDED.

Well said all. When I started this hobby a few years ago, I had no clue what I was going to do. If I had not found this group, I would have given up and not done a thing with my saw. This group has guided me well and the patterns are such a blessing. Love my scroll saw family.
