Hi all, I'm making a set of butterfly coasters for my daughter, what is the best finish to put on them so the hot cups won't mark them?

I think Polyurethane gives about the toughest finish, and waterproof.

think PU is the only real waterproof finish.
but might think a good clear lacquer will work as well,
only don't put them in the dishwasher

I would avoid lacquer and use Varithane or an epoxy.
