Update on Knee
« on: April 03, 2014, 04:03:07 pm »
Had a doctors appointment yesterday. All is healing well. I am riding a bike and working on a sitting elliptical. Doctor gave me the go ahead to swim also. So all is improving. Thanks for all your prayers and support... Love and Hugs.. Sheila aka SheGold

Great news! Keep working thatknee to make it stronger. When we are young and active we never think about all the things we do to keep our body in shape. Then when we get old we wonder what happened, why things hurt.

Marcel had a great idea as I've always wanted one of those although couldn't use it now.  Just be sure to continue with your therapy as that is the path to recovery with full use of your knee.

Sheila, so glad you are well on the road to a full recovery, do all your exercises but don't overdo them. How's the rest of your family now? still on the mend too?

Glad to hear your progress. How's the ROM? 120? or less?
Keep working and when they tell you you are finished with therapy...just keep up those exercises. Must keep actively moving that joint or it will stiffen.

Thank you all. Marcellus I like that and yes it would help. lol. Wombatie so true. I'm slow but getting back to normal. Clyde no running except in water, guess the Boston is out lol. Rob I take it easy but work out good. I'm up to a resistance level of 7 on both the bike and the elliptical, that's a big improvement over the 0 resistance I started with. Judy you know that's true. I can accually lift my leg and kick a bit without pain. Dan you are so right pain is my middle name when I work out but at least now there are no tears when I do. Graybeard ROM is almost back to normal. I am able to get on the floor alone and back up. Its not easy but I'm able. The swimming has helped more than the machines. My therapist says I'm improving great. I go back for my next check-up July 1st and they seem to think I will be released at that time. This seems to be taking forever but at least I'm getting better. Love and Hugs to all
