Free Coin Patterns Galore
« on: March 29, 2014, 11:27:38 pm »
So, I found 5 public domain images suitable for coins and am posting all the patterns here.  I hope to amass a good quantity of free patterns for those wanting to jump into this.  I'm sorry to say that these are not exactly for beginners, but would be worthy challenges after some skill it built up.  Stash these away if coin cutting is on your list of things to try.

I've cut all of these patterns, and will post them in a minute with the exception of the "Girl Dancing With Doll Coin" which I've already posted.

I post on multiple forums but this group of scrollers has been especially supportive.  Thanks!!!  Hopefully giving the patterns back to the various forums will show my appreciation.

Save the best for last, the curls were a bear.  I gave a sigh of relief after the last cut.  It is a good feeling.

Randy your cut coins always amaze me.  I can not see that fine a line ... even with my magna visor x15 hehe.  Keep up the great work on them.  Thanks for sharing your talent with us.

DW, here is a test for you or anyone else that want to see if their eyes are good enough for this.  Take one of the patterns and print it.  Then get some 3.5+ reading glasses.  Put your magnifier as close to the saw as you can without bumping it, then get right down on the glass (my chin usually rest on the magnifier).  If you can see the line clearly, you can cut it with a little practice.  My eyes are bad too, but the combination of high power reading glasses and the magnifier make it possible.

Amazing Randy!!   Thanks for the patterns and the tips on how to cut something this small.  I love a challenge and will try doing these in the near future.  Great job and thanks again.  AL

Now I am all excited to try one.
How do you get the pattern on the coin?
sorry to know so little about it.
Now I am off to watch you tube on how to make a jig.

I use a good magnifier for all my scrolling, not just coins.  Then on top of that, I use 3.5 reading glasses.  I position the magnifier as close to the work as I can without the arm of the saw hitting it.  My eyes went south a few years back, but I'm able to correct with this combination.  Once you can see it, the rest is a piece of cake.
