Proud to be Military Plaques
« on: March 06, 2014, 06:09:04 pm »
Attached are my version of the Proud to be series of plaques designed by Sue Mey. Cut from 1/2 in Red Oak Plywood with a 1/4 in Popular backer, I hope I can sell of few of these. If you have never seen Sue Meys site you are missing something. Website address is  http://www.scrollsawartist.com/

Attached is the Proud to be a Woodworker. It is 1/2 Oak ply on a painted foam board. I am trying E6000 glue on this to see how well it holds wood to a painted surface.

Very nice.  I have been looking at those patterns in a catalog but have not ordered any yet.  They should sell very well.  Nice Work.

These are very well done, and I think you'll like that glue. Sometimes I just put a glob of that glue on a piece of paper, and use a toothpick to put a few drops in appropriate locations.

excellent work on all of them, but the red backer on the last one really makes it pop out at you.

Your Talent on the Scroll Saw is Outstanding.  Great set of Plaques.
     Just a Feeling thing....I started out using the Oak Ply. many years ago
for Portraits.  Thought to myself (then) Wow! Look at that Super looking Grain.
Well I stopped using it because of that.  Interferes with some of cut cut outs.
     Basically I Love to use Hard Wood, but like most here good ole BALTIC BIRCH
would be my choice for portraits.  Also my 2 cents again.  Like using 1/8" for most
all projects that need a backer.      Anyway this is just my 13 cents worth.  LOL :+}
