So very sad
« on: February 13, 2014, 12:34:45 am »
Last night at 6.30 an 11 year old boy was just finished his cricket training when he was attacked by his father.  He was beaten about the head with the cricket bat and then stabbed.  He died at the scene.  The police tried unsuccessfully to disarm the man and he was subsequently shot in the chest.  He later died in hospital of the gun shot wounds.  All of this happened because of a custody dispute with the mother.  I would like to know what he thought he would gain by doing such an horrific thing to HIS child.  It is bad enough when it is done by a stranger but his own Father that is unthinkable.  And this all happened less than a 10 min drive from my home.  His home town, his school, his family and the people in the surrounding towns are all in deep shock.  Until last year we had never had a 'Murder' committed around here and now we have had 2, I hate to think what will happen next.  The boys name is Luke and I would appreciate you all saying a prayer for his mother who is devastated.

Judy apparently it started around the back of the club house were they could not be seen and when someone did try to intervene the father was brandishing a knife.  It was more women there than men and the police got there very quickly.  it all happened with the boy in about 5 mins and after the poice got there 15mins all over.  Apparently he had a predisposition for family violence.
