Changing Homepage Setting????
« on: February 06, 2014, 11:59:59 am »
Did SOMETHING lately that has caused me to be unable to OPEN the line labeled
CHANGE YOUR HOMEPAGE....Also has another that is for Deleting Cookies etc. in same area.

I click on it and NOTHING happens.

Where I had Yahoo logo as my Homepage on Desktop is still showing, but when I
click on it FIREFOX HOME PAGE POPS UP.  On the TOP of that page shows all the Favorites and
Yahoo is there, so its just click on that and Yahoo opens.

Any assistance would be Great.........................Danny  :+}

if I am reading this right, you use google as your browser,  and yahoo as your homepage if so
open google and then click on your yahoo icon so the page is open, then in the top right hand corner of the screen
click on the three horizontal bars, now scroll down to settings and click that.
The settings page will now  be open
the second setting down is "on start up"in there select the bottom option " select specific page" then at the end of that line click on "set pages"
a box will pop up, in there click in the bottom left corner "use current page"
now exit out of everything and then from your desktop click on your Yahoo icon and it should load as you want

First....Thanks for offering assistance....

FIREFOX is my Browser.  YES....Yahoo has always been my Home Page.  Still is, but
have a different way NOW to open it.

My mistake for saying Google opened.  Not correct.  Looks like its something connected
to Yahoo.  Don't know?

I did have Yahoo opened....but....there is not the 3 horizontal bars showing in right top
corner.  ?

Still confused as to why I can't open Control Panel and open Change Homepage like I have
did on many occasions.  Or Delete History etc. ?

Hope this is Good enough info. for you.  I check back in later....  Danny  :+}

Danny,

We have Windows 7.  Yahoo as primary, Google secondary.  To add or delete a Homepage:

Type in what you want.  i.e. "Yahoo", "Google" etc.  When the Homepage comes up, on the upper right of the screen you have 2 short rows.  RIGHT click the "house" symbol.  1 of the options that drops down will be:

"Add or change homepage"

I don't know if this will help solve part of your problem.

jerry

p.s. I just told you more than I know.   :D

You might want to install Malwarebytes, And run it also. It's a free scanner I have found to be very useful in finding Browser malware and much more. You may have a malware browser add-on you don't know about changing you're settings. It's free and works pretty good.

In the upper left corner click the Firefox button. In the dropdown menu click Options then options in the next popup. Then click the general tab and you can set your homepage. I hope this helps.
