Paper Ornaments
« on: December 17, 2013, 12:07:57 am »
Needed something to give out at work, so got to looking at cutting paper and this is the results.  Cut card stock paper into 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" pieces (36 total) and 2 pieces of baltic birch 1/8" plywood for top and bottom.  used short screws along edges to make sure the paper was sandwiched and held in place, then just cut regular with #2 regular blades.  Cutting was MUCH slower, the paper makes it really solid cutting.  Took about 1.5 hrs to cut out, but came out with 36 paper ornaments and 2 wooden ones.  Made nice little something for everyone at work  ;)

Very nicely done.  I have seen this kind of cutting done but have not attempted it yet.
Thanks for sharing this with us.

You just got the Excitement bug thing going with this project.  Never did this, but will in the near future.  First idea I got was to take time with each piece of index card and use felt pens and color a random design on both sides where the ornament will occur.  Neat.  Danny  :+}
