Fake e-mail we received
« on: October 28, 2013, 10:21:15 pm »
Our electricity was off this weekend & I could not use my computer, so could not use e-mail nor play any games as usual.  I could not use the internet or charge my cell phone, so was completely cut off from the world.

My remote would not turn on the TV to watch sports, movies or series programs.  To add insult to injury, the play station was also dormant.

The weather was inclement with torrential rain and gale-force wind, so I could not play golf, go fishing, or as a last resort, even work in the garden.

So, in desperation, to prevent withdrawal symptoms, I chatted with my wife for quite a few hours.

She seems quite a decent sort, actually !!

So true. Today it seems more people will be out having dinner with the family and everyone is taking on cell phones and not to each other. I leave my phone in the car when out to eat with the wife, never know when that may be our last "date" and don't want a cell phone to be the last thing she remembers about our time together. Guess you can tell I love and hate cell phones.

LOL My wife and I send each other texts while in the same room. We actually have great communication in person, but we have fun with technology as well.

I have to modify this post after being without phone service for over a week, my wife has consented to join the 21st. century, (kicking and screaming I might add) and we now have a cell phone for "Emergency" use or for when she travels to dog shows. I'm getting more anxious all the time when she's on the road alone. She'll be the big 80 next June and after her heart attack last Christmas, I do worry about her. Now if she will just get used to carrying the darned thing!

Just be careful Jerry. I started talking to my wife years ago and now she won't stop. I can't find the mute button and I guess she runs on batteries because there is nothing to unplug. Oh well, I still have a box of foam ear plugs.
