Name Sign Inlayed

I guess I will call this the "Same Wood Inlay"   The dark and light wood is the same piece of walnut. I just resawed the piece from 1/2" to two 1/4" pieces and flipped one of them then did the inlay process. Then put a cherry frame around it. I thought it was cool to incorporate the sapwood in the inlay as the contrast to the heartwood.

Now that is a Very Handsome Name Frame.  Gives me ideas now.  Never tried the Inlay,
but guess its just securing a light and dark species of wood together and be real careful
of cutting each letter (and hoping they fit back into the opposite color.)  Don't know why
I haven't already tried this.  Oh well....Dustin you did a Great job on both.  Danny  :+}

Thank you! The inlay process is very simple once you get the angle right. I encourage you to try it and am looking forward to seeing some work if you make some. Here are some links to how to do the inlay process. I learned from Steve Good's video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjecP8KjjrU     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9ps70QbogM  I have a few more projects on camera using the process of inlay, but once you see how one is done, they are all the same process.
