Fretwork pedestal table

I've been working on this project on and off for the last couple of months and finally finished it. This is from a pattern by Dan Wilckens. I'm really happy with the way it turned out. It's been quite a challenge but well worth it. I installed lights inside but they are a little bright so I'm going to try to find something different to light it.

Next I'm going to work on a fretwork clock to put on top of the table. That will be a good winter project.

Very nicely done Ray.  That looks like something I have seen in some of the ornate churches.  Looking forward to seeing the rest of your "winter" project.  Thanks for sharing this with us.

that's a beautiful bit of craftsmanship. You might take a look at some low power LED lights to keep the heat out of you interior. A hot lamp could over-dry the interior and cause some issues.

Awesome.  You have more talent in 1 finger than I have in both hands.

Re: Building a clock.  I built a 42" tall York Minster cathedral, plus a pedestal, for a total height of 6+ feet.  16' string of white Christmas lights inside.

IF I had it to do over again, I would definately attach sheets of stained glass to the insides.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Thank you all for your kind words. I forgot to include any information on the project. It's about 28" tall. The base pieces and top pieces are made of 3/4" oak plywood and edged with walnut banding. The side panels are 1/2" oak plywood and the overlays were done with walnut and maple. I used plexiglass for the top piece just because it was easy to cut and inexpensive.

Really nice job there!  Does your pattern designer have a website?  I am not looking for anything specifically like that (at least at this time) but I am always looking for more pattern resources.
