Dan - the keg measures 11" top to bottom.
I removed the perch and added (4) 1" holes around the top, and some 1/4" drain holes in the bottom. Changed the sand to gravel (sand was spilling out the bottom holes).
The keg is actually magnetic steel (not aluminum), the top ring is gray plastic and the porthole has a 1.5" gray PVC conduit adapter screwed into it.
