an introduction from brummie
« on: September 03, 2013, 12:36:15 pm »
hi everybody I suppose it about time introduced myself,my first intro to scroll-saw was at the early age of 11 my father bought me a fretsaw we not that well of so I used to scrounge offcuts of timber from the local timber merchant there was a magazine called Hobbies I think it was monthly It still about today but yearly selling all modelling items but there not so much of the fretsaw patterns .
I did little bits fretsaw but the job meant I travelled around a bit so it did not get as much time to myself as would have liked.
So come my retirement  I bought myself Hegner scroll saw ,I found there were quite a few books with patterns by Patrick Spielman
so I plodded on like till my family at my age 75 got me in to the computer age so browsing through the web sites I came across scrollsaw  workshop I was gob smacked the patterns and information Steve Good videos and tips I suppose he is my mentor ,I then went on to the forum that was definitely a mind boggling experience the friendly banter I  still have to get on to Steve put me right get on to the forum.
thats enough verbal rubbish

Hi Brummie, I don't usually respond to all the hello chatter but you sound like a good guy and ready to join in on the banter. At our ages it helps to lighten the load, and there are several of us getting on in years. One of them is referred to as Mr. Beard
LOL if you are really new to computers you may have to get used to the use of acronims and other silliness like using letters like LOL which means laugh out loud.
If I'm covering familiar ground sorry, so join in and welcome to the nut house.
I'll bet you have a lifetime of experience to share with the rest of us.
