Do you build 'Models"

Watch this Model Airplane!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=SDbQ5xvsrIU

Here is a 'hobbyist' with lots of time and talent!

 Model-Jet Airplane
This is one absolutely amazing remote controlled [RC] model airplane.  Not only did they build its jet engines, but included a retractable landing gear, and built it into a fully scaled model of the SR-71 "Blackbird" that flies just like the real McCoy.  This SR-71 model was built by an Engineer / RC enthusiast in Germany , and is certainly one awesome toy.
I never really wanted to grow up....All I wanted was to be able to reach the cookie jar...and play with my DW 788

I had seen that one once before - it is still great.  The other really cool model is one of a B52 with all eight engines.  some people think our "hobby" is expensive.

That is just TOO COOL!!!!
We have a real SR71 hanging from the celing in the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center right here in lil ole Hutchinson, Kansas USA.
I would see it every week in a hanger when I was working and before it got mounted permentaly to the celing.
That is one BIG airplane considering it only carryed two people and a camera!

I thought I had spent alot of time and money on my hobby...this guy is crazy good with building that plane.

I also like the lady with the fire extinguisher standing by while he is fueling it...that should tell you that this guy means business!

I have seen other R/C airplanes like that.  The engines are like 2-3 grand a piece.  Some of those planes are illegal in the US because they go too fast.  I just couldnt get myself to spend the money.  All that time and money invested and it only takes one little crash to destroy it all.

When I see something like this I think of my friend who spent three months building an RC model airplane and crashed it on it's first flight, ouch!!

Wonder what saw he used to cut the plane?

Neat video thanks for sharing. I have always been interested in RC but have never invested in the hobby.

That is something I've always wanted to do but not enough money, time, or GUTS to fly one.

After all these years I have learned that it is BEST to pick the hobbies you feel comfortable with, both skill wise and financially!
