What a PITA!!!! Either I did something wrong or am just not smart enough.  From now on I will order my mops.

Anyone want  precut for length 180 pieces of 6 x 2 in. 180 grit sandpaper??  First request gets it. 
Excuse me now I have to go order a sanding mop.

YEP that is the video that gave me the bright idea.  It looks so easy.  He didn't say which blade he used to cut them.  But it isn't anything like I have.

He said it was the biggest one he had.  I'd guess either a #9 or a #12.  Like everything else though, I imagine it depends on how think a bundle you want to cut each time.  Since you pre-cut the jig, you could judge what blade to use by the thickness of the sandpaper bundle I guess. 

Hey, if you decide to punt it, maybe someone who couldn't otherwise afford a mop will benefit.  For me, it would be a lot easier (and less annoying) to go to Klingspor's web site and just buy the pre-cut set but I know some people get a lot of satisfaction making their own stuff.  I guess it just depends which category you're in.

I tried the Harbor Freight Sanding Balls and was thoroughly disappointed.
It just seemed to crumble into a lot of fine dust.

those sanding balls are a real POC--they are dyed or something and the coloring comes off on the wood--JMHO--Richard

I made a sanding mop and found that it does no more than smooth out the wood a very little.  It does not change the profile , or shape, enough to notice.  It worked, but it sits in the corner gathering dust instead of making it.

I totally agree, Judy.  I bought my first one and after Steve's tutorial, I decided to make my next one.  Oh what a time consuming pain in the a$$!  Bought my next two.  I have 4.  Two 4" ones I use on my drill press and two 6" ones I use on my sand flea.

Judy was kind enough to send me the strips of sand paper.  

She is absolutely correct, the stuff is a PITA to work with, however, I shall make the attempt.

At least I get to learn something new.
