Square, method of doing transactions
« on: July 18, 2013, 11:37:18 am »
Does anyone use this device. What are the costs and what type of bank acct do you need to set up. I ordered one it was "free". But don't know diddly squat about it or the hidden things like security and stuff. Any info will be good. Thanks.

I've used one. You can tie it to any checking account. When I first got it, I paid myself $10 using the debit card for the same checking account to see what would happen. Within a few minutes the $10 was deducted from the account. About 3 days later, the deposit of $9.72 (their fee is 2.75%) was deposited in the account. So it seems to work OK.

I have one and have used it several times for people wishing to use credit cards to pay for the concealed weapons classes I teach.  There have been no problems and it has worked quite well.

I have one and I like it a lot. It is an easy way to take payments other then cash. I rarely carry cash these days so when I go places like craft fairs on a spur of the moment thing I have a tiny budget, unless someone takes a card and I can spend what ever I want.
I made a few sales from my last show that I wouldn't have gotten with out it.
