My first Intarsia
« on: July 11, 2013, 04:25:00 pm »
This was my first attempt at an Intarsia piece made at the end of last year. I changed it from a wall hanging to free standing and added a clock.
All the wood came from the scrap bin known woods are beech, ash, olive and oak the wood for the mice is the only unknown wood it came from a garden table.
I believe this is a Kathy Wise design.

Thank you all. I enjoyed making this as i do with all the woodworking projects that I make, at the moment I am making a 1936 Ford car all from wood

That looks good. I was just looking at that pattern yesterday and was thinking about giving that a try for my first attempt. Thanks for sharing

Just find some wood and have a go I just took my time and enjoyed making it.

This is beautifully done, hard to believe it is your first project :)

Only my first Intarsia work not my only woodworking project.

it Looks funny, nice work.

I think that is what attracted me to this design and also not to many pieces for a first try

Nice work, it looks very good. Love the clock added to it. I have seen this pattern and wondered what it looked like done. Maybe your work will inspire me to try it. Thanks for sharing and keep up the work. I look forward to your next piece.

Sorry for the lateness in Thanking all those that have commented on this piece. Anyway thank you all I would like to have a go at some more later but will keep it simple until I have had a bit more practice.

No not an old pro just old ;), I do a lot of other types of woodwork and like to do the best that I can and would rather throw 1 piece away and remake if I don't think it is up to scratch
