Tea Box

Was asked to make a box to hold tea bags for my local cafe.
Used Rimu, Matai and the name is (I think is mahogany)  veneer.
The sides and ends are 10mm so I thought I wood try some keys (not that great) but not real bad either. ;D

Mahendra: there is no pattern it was made on the fly (made up as I went along and the mistakes).

That's a nice unique piece for your customer to show her customers.

You said "keys" - is that the corner finger joints or the mortises where the parts cross? Did you cut the finger joins on the scroll saw?

Very nice.  I'm not a tea drinker, but I can think of alot of other ideas to use this for around the house.  Great work!

Thanks for the comments people.

Ray: yes the Keys on the corners, first time using corner finger joints made a jig (from Woodsmith mag).
Also the mortises were cut on the table Saw and were a first also, again the Idea on how they are done properly (Woodsith mag).
