Hello everyone
« on: May 21, 2013, 04:29:20 pm »
Hello, my name is Ashley Beaver but everyone just calls me Beav or Wally. I am 36 married to my wife Mary for going on 15 yrs, I have two girls, Jeni 13, and Brook 12, and two of the most spoiled dogs you will ever meet Radar and Molly. I work at a Local Cable provider here in wonderful Columbus Ga as a maintenance tech. I love to invent new things (hopefully in the next couple of months I can post on here that I am fully retired, thanks to my new invention). Anyways I have always loved woodworking it has been a huge part of my family for the five generations that I know of and I am hoping to pass it down to my girls. I just bought my first scroll saw in January when I retired from the Army. I have seen so many awesome things done with them that I had to experience it myself. I guess you could say I had Scroll fever. My wife actually suggested that I put a microwave in the wood shop so at least in between projects I may find something to eat. LOL.. I believe I have a small leg up on most people due to my other woodworking talents, however as I found out not so humbly I am still a novice and open to learning from everyone. I have read alot of post on here before typing all this up, manily I just wanted to see if this was right for me, and I have to say awesome job. I am an open book so if you would like to know anything else just let me know.
Thanks everyone,
Beaver
Me, my wood shop, and thousands of ideas,,,, Man what a life that would be!

Welcome to the group. It's pretty active and a lot of good ideas out there.

I'm a retired engineer with a consulting company. I bought my 1st scroll saw for an engineering job panel build, and I can't believe it took me 59 years to find this crazy tool. It seems like the most versatile tool for making complex parts, and a great help in modeling/realizing those patents-to-be.

I look fwd to seeing your work.

Hi Beav, welcome to great forum. Many are eager to help if you have questions.
If you go to my web site and click on Selecting a Blade and Q & A. You might find some good tips.
Have good tension, good speed and push very slow into the blade. Working with a scrollsaw you never can be in a hurry.

Hi Beav.  I am retired Navy.  I live in Mcdonough, Ga. a litdtle south of the Atlanta Airport.  Scrolling is great hobby and very time consuming, you can really get lost in it.  This is one of the most helpful and friendly sites I have ever found, if you need help or have question we will glad to help.
