Donated wood Project
« on: May 20, 2013, 05:58:30 pm »
You might recall that at my show last month an old time cabinet maker gave me a nice box full of exotic wood.  He had been hanging on to the wood for a very long time waiting for the right time to use it or give it away.  So after visiting my booth last month he decided I could put it to good use.

I wanted to make something for him as a Thank you for that wonderful gift.  So I made him this candy dish/bowl from a nice piece of Padauk from his gift box.  It was a nice piece that was 7" w x 13" long and 5/8: thick.  This is the 1st time I've worked with Padauk, it sure does make an orange mess!!!!!!!

I hope he will like it!

Thanks for lookin'

Looking good. I just made a Padauk handle for a small skinner knife. Very red and dusty as you said, but easy cutting and it polished up nice.
