Yes, "mistakes" is deliberately misspelled "misteaks", part of the taking "ownership".  It is always interesting with respect to those who say nothing whether they do not notice or are to polite to ask the question.

Probably a little of both, it's a great play on words, a lot of folks make mistakes similar to that and don't realize it and don't know the difference. Such as saying since when they mean SENCE or Cents.
Blame it on the English language So sew up your lip and sow some seed so what? And don't forget to feed the sow and her pigletts. LOL
