Birthday Balloons.
« on: March 03, 2013, 11:33:39 pm »
About 4 months ago I got the idea to buy a lot of balloons (142) and put something inside each one (money, candy, hair ties) and then when my wife was out I would blow....and blow....and bloooow up each balloon. So today for her birthday I had my mother call after church asking for my help. I sent my wife, Sherry, ahead of me to her mom's for dinner. Then I got to work. An hour and a half later I had quite a pile of balloons. At her mom's I had to tell her the bad news that after helping my mother with moving something I forgot to grab my gifts for her. Well, after dinner I beat her home and had the camera ready. Tomorrow it will go up on youtube to show how fast she could pop all them balloons.

I would have run out of breath trying to blow up that lot lol, but I bet she loves the idea. I think you might have earned yourself a few brownie points there.

She loved it. It took her some time to pop them all. But not nearly as long as it took me to blow them up. It was worth the time though. We had so much fun.

Each balloon had either $1, $5, $10, or $20 in it. Some had a Hershey Kiss and a few had Cadbury Egg inside. My wife also loves hair ties so I put a package of them separated into several balloons. And one balloon had a gift card for Olive Garden. The money was about $130 total cash. So she was pretty happy. Normally I buy her gifts but this year I knew she wanted money for buying some things for her tablet. So for her the cash was perfect.

My wife would not be to happy if I were to give out her age here like you did  but then again 142 is quite an accomplishment... :o

A unique idea, My wife's birthday is March 14th. Hum,  I like the idea, can I pull it off? I just remembered I have her gifts bought. Can I get a balloon big enough to fit a top and pair of jeans into. Probably have to get two balloons ah. I sure hope your wife had fun ;D ;D

Well you have the right idea but the math is wrong. It is 5 balloons for every year and then 2 extra balloons because she is so beautiful and deserves them. Now the math says she is only 28....but not sure how that works out because we have been married for 18 years.....but trust me saying she is only 28 wins even more points with her.

We both did. It was actually kind of fun. She cleaned up the loot and I got most the balloons. Only took a few minutes to clean. I actually got the idea driving down the road about 5 months ago. I saw a whole lot of balloons outside an apartment complex. I thought, "Bet my wife would love some balloons." Then the thought came to me to get a lot of them for her birthday. I love planning such things for her.

Troy How difficult was it to get the gifts inside the balloons?
