gunrack

This is another project I have helped my brother with. The gunrack is out of the same board of walnut. We tought the blend of the woods color would give it a unique look. He scrolled the masthead out of 1/2" red oak. I think he has done a great job for his first time making a larger project. It will be finished with a satin poly.
I had him outline the pattern on cardboard to save his pattern. If he gets orders for more then he can transfer it to hardboard to save.
It was fun watching him white knuckle the jigsaw and cut some of the work at an angle. ;D I gave him some tips and trying not to make some mistakes. I told him sanding will help correct your mistakes. I think all of the sanding helped him understand. ;D Practice  ;D
It was the first time he used a jigsaw.

Oh the Memories of building projects that big.  LOL  Scrolling is Great, but never
much bigger than a picture frame.  I Like what I see.  Using the Walnut makes it
look Rich.  Very Good Cutting on everything.  Danny  :+}

Great looking gun rack! Outstanding project all around. I made one of these in middle school shop class 30+ years ago.
