printing problems

 >:(I have a all in one Kodak printer and when I change the printer settings to black and white and then the printer settings to monochrome I can not print my black and white patterns.....the printer says that the color ink is low.......it really is bothering me that I have to change the color ink when I want to print black only........why cant it print only black when I set it too even when the color is out , to me that tells me that it is using color to print black ink......please help.....any thoughts on what to do.........I print a-lot in black so if replace the color and it starts printing again it will soon say the same thing about the color being out..........just don't understand???
