Tilt-O-Scroll
« on: January 26, 2013, 03:47:58 pm »
 I recently made a scrollsaw bowl. It turned out good and I've had a few request for more of them. The problem is that I hate trying to cut with the table tilted. No problem, I'll just buy a EX21. Whoa, heart says do it, wallet says no way!
   Here is the solution to my dilemma, tilt the table, then tip the saw to get the table level again. A poor mans EX21!
   Check out the picture and tell me what you think. I can tip it 45 degrees both ways.

DARN!!!! >:( Why didn't I think of that!  ::) I LOVE your idea!  :)
My saw is on the standard DeWalt stand so, in order to do that I would have to build another stand but, it just might be worth it.
I have made a lot of bowls  and vases over the years and have always struggled with the "table tilt" and never once thought to do what you have done.  :P I really like that.  ;)

Rapid Roger, I also had my saw on the Dewalt stand. My new tilting stand seems to reduce the already low vibration of the DW788. Before if I scrolled at top speed, the saw would be shaking slightly. Now on this heavy stand, top speed is smooth.

What a great idea!  At least as long as the saw doesn't fall off.   :o

I applaud your creativity.

I have the saw bolted to the table, could saw upside down if I wanted but then the wood would fall off! ;D
