3/0 New Spiral Blade!!!
« on: January 25, 2013, 10:46:21 pm »
I got 3 sample blades from Mike this week and finally got to put one in my saw today...

I will be giving them a true workout tomorrow but from what I was able to determine today I want MORE!
Super fine KERF for a spiral blade and the few cuts I made were very true, easy to control and cut trhough 3/8" of BB (stack of 3 - 1/8") like a hot knife thru butter.
Cut true and easy in all directions.

Will post more tomorrow after using them in an actual portrait cutting situation.

sounds great!
how is the tension / quick release lever working with those thin blades?
I have a Hegner and the quick release lever will snap my 2/0 UR blades, so have to set the tension with the knob at the end.
just wondering.

I do not see the NS NO. 3/0 blades available on Mike site, they must be very new. I think I may like to get some. I do like the 2/0, once you get the hang of, they are very good to work with. I use two pliers to untwist the ends a bit for easier clamping.

Mike only got a few dozen to start out and has more on the way. (5 gross, should be there Monday)
He told me yesterday in his email that the pricing will be the same as the rest of the FD New Spirals, $3.55 /dz.

Graybeard, I'm anxiously awaiting a full review!  If they work as good as the 2/0's, I'll be ordering some too!  Let us know ASAP! ;D

There is nothing like Spiral Blades.  I use then and they are all Mikes.  I do have a little problems with the 2/0 breaking so it will be interesting to try the 3/0.  :):)

I finally got the chance to use new 3/0 blades that Mike sent to me on a small project. Just as GB said, they work very nicely. I will definitely be ordering more from Mike.
Mike, thank you for the samples.

Does that happen to anyone else?  :):)
