Introduction
« on: January 18, 2013, 10:33:16 am »
Hello all. I'm a retiree and had the chance in 2012 to help on a project that needed some small electrical panels. Rather than buy expensive special punches for connectors and buttons, I got a Porter-Cable saw from Lowe's and cut the openings (in steel, aluminum, and fiberglass panels) using the manufacturer's outlines. After some Christmas ornaments for family members, I tried a few portraits and was pretty well hooked. I just ordered a 30th anniversary EX-21 from Seyco and I'm waiting for delivery. Can't wait.
One other thing - I'm left handed. Both blade clamps on the P-C are left handed (to the left of the blade). Does anyone know if that's common?

Welcome to the forum! I'm Dan from Southern California. Come on in and join the fun! I am left handed also, but learned to do things right handed as neccerary. The blade clamp thumb screws on the Excalibur are on the right side, but they can be reversed. There is a set screw on the opposite side of the thumb screw. You just reverse them. I have a DeWalt saw, but never reversed the thumb screws.
Good luck!

Keefie - tell your friends that the extras are what makes the show for us. Anyone we'd recognize?

What kind of saw do you use?
