Dome Clock
« on: December 21, 2012, 06:45:06 pm »
I may have posted this earlier but if so I can't find the posting. Cut from basswood mostly with birch plywood here and there. Around 2000 inner cuts. Painted to resemble old stone work. Christmas lights around the top. Stands 50" in height. I think a full-scale version could have been built in less time :)

Cheers,
Gadois

That is absolutely amazing, it must have taken weeks to make?

Thanks to you all for your very kind words. I didn't keep track of actual constructions hours but I worked on the clock off and on for about 6 months.

My current project is from plans of an ancient German house, circa 1886. Not as much scrolling in this project as the clock, but some details could not be accomplished without a scrollsaw.

I-M-P-R-E-S-S-I-V-E!! I have always wanted to build this one, but I don't have enough room in my house to display it. Be very very proud of this one!!
