Is 4 layers of 1/4 in Birch too much to cut at one time?

The thing to remember is there are multiple layers of glue you are cutting through. All that glue is tough on blades. For 1/4" BB I will stack two layers.

IF you don't mind giving FD Mike more business then go for it. That Mountain Lion I just finished was 2 - 1/8 and 2 - 1/4
plywood and cut just fine using 2/0 FD New Spirals....
However, I went through over 3 doz. blades on that one project. The glue sure heats them up and they wear out quick.

I would not hesitate to do 1/2 of BB with any of my blades.

Thanks for the replies I am using FD-UR #1 and I do go thru several blades. I just ordered 2 doz. first time and then ordered 3 more lately.

2 layers 1/4"....  BB....  Just finished cutting using a 1/8" on the Bottom.  Used
the FD-UR #1 for the complete project.  Yes....I did go thru a few blades.  The
bottom layer came out as good and clean as the other 2.  Yea!

I very seldom go more thatn a half inch of plywood for stacking.  So that is 2 1/4 and 4 1/8.  Good Luck
