I know several fishermen that do this regularly. I live about a mile in from the coast. I have heard of the rough seas but never saw video like this. They are really brave men! Oh - and this week the lobster fishermen were getting $3 per pound. Lobsters here are at an all time low of $4.25 per pound for medium live lobster.  It isn't a lot for putting their lives on the line as they do!

It takes a very special type of person to do that.
Idiot, imbecile, deranged, suicidal, are a few that come to mind.

Think of them the next time you are eating scallops, lobster or other fish from Nova Scotia. :/

For most Newfoundland/ Nova Scotian fisherpersons this is their way of life. The North Atlantic is very unforgiving.

I do have a great respect for those captains and crew. I have been caught in rough water before and it is no fun.  All be it I was in a much smaller boat and the water was no where near like that. Still that is more steel there than just in the boats!
