Picture Frames

I have made some Christmas present wall plaques out of 1/4 in Oak plywood. I want to put them in frames. I found some moulding at blue store I like. I can cut the miters no problem but I am not sure how attach the corners. Do you glue and brad nail, use flat  "L" brackets on each corner on back or how do you do it.

Please give me ur ideas

I use glue and corner clamps, then use an air nailer to put a nail in the corners. I have my kids at school make frames this way, as long as they measure the frames come out good.
The last time I made a frame at home however, there was a lot of swearing and I took the whole piece right out to the fire pit. The miter saw I used had a crappy blade and angles were all messed up.

I sometimes use messed up student frames in my projects. I cut the angles to 45 and adjust the sizes to what ever fits the kids screw up, then fit my project to that size. If you think you might have some trial and error, you might want to keep the pieces.

Hey George, I just glue the corners without any reinforcements because I glue the project into the rabbet of the frame. It becomes one solid piece.

I glue as well as staple the corners when making frames, use either an air or hand stapler, cutting the miters is the most important part

I glue and clamp and let it set overnight.  Have not had one come apart yet.  Every once in a while I add some splines just for the cosmetic effect.

It's ok to glue plywood items in the frame. Solid wood items however need expansion room and will force apart the frame if glued in.

I use strap clamps and glue the corners. After drying I use one of these http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=10547 to reinforce the corners to make sure they don't separate.

I glue using corner clamps then use splines for strength.
